why start a blog?

It wasn't until just recently that I discovered writing was therapeutic. In college I dreaded anytime I had a paper due or had to respond to one of those group forums-- which by the way, I still think are a giant waste of time (sorry teachers). Strangely enough, after doing a little soul searching in the past few months, I learned that communicating my thoughts through writing helped me to relax and find clarity (as much as you can with 3 crazy kids).

I found myself reading posts written by other woman going through the same obstacles in life, parenting, PPD, grief, etc.and finding comfort in these people that I only knew through words and pictures. It showed me that maybe I, too could help be that voice of strength and wisdom to someone else.

Then came an EPIPHANY, and this blog was born. I decided to start this blog not because I think I'm an awesome writer (because I'm not), but because it creates an outlet for me to talk about issues I have dealt with as a mom and post on other topics that are near and dear to my heart. Life is hard, amazing, but hard, and mine has been no different! I lost my dad unexpectedly at the young age of 21, my mom had a massive stroke and almost died when I was pregnant with my second daughter (I was 28), and it has been really difficult at times to find others that face the same struggles. It has been through the grace of God, my amazing and very patient husband, kids, family and friends, that got me through the thick of it, but certainly reading posts by others facing the same hardships helped a lot too.

My overall hope is that I can be relatable and real. I plan to discuss issues that are helpful and interesting to other moms and women, share things that I love, products I love, and things that have helped me as a mom, wife, stylist, etc. I also love any excuse to share my love for clothes, hair and my ever-changing style (which I will as well).

I would love for you to follow me on this crazy, wild, hard, tiring, rewarding, beautiful, unpredictable, journey they call motherhood/life.

Any questions, feel free to contact me via email!
